If you’re a PS Plus subscriber wondering when the next batch of PS4 and PS5 Essentials will be revealed, then the good news is that you don’t have long to wait. The May 2023 PlayStation Plus games will be officially revealed at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of April 26. The free PS4 and PS5 games will be available to download and play less than a week later, on the morning of May 2. With the PlayStation Plus games often leaking ahead of schedule, Express Online will keep this article updated with any developments.
In the build up to the big reveal, fans have been predicting what they think will join the line-up in May.
Sony first-party games often come to PS Plus, which is why many fans believe Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart, or The Last of Us Part 2 will join PlayStation Plus in May.
Sifu is another popular pick in the predictions thread on Reddit, alongside titles like Sekiro, Nier Automata, LEGO Star Wars, FIFA 23, and Alan Wake Remastered.
Other subscribers think we’ll get a Resident Evil game, or maybe a title from the Far Cry series.
Needless to say, there are plenty of mentions for indie games, such as The Pathless, Cult of the Lamb, Death’s Door, and Spelunky 2.
PS5: Ratchet & Clank announce new game ‘Rift Apart’
If you subscribe to the Extra and/or Premium tier, then additional games will be unveiled on May 9.
Unfortunately, the PS Plus Extra Games Catalogue will lose multiple titles from May 15.
This includes heavyweights such as Marvel’s Spider-Man, Resident Evil, and Kingdom Come Deliverance.
That’s on top of games like Shenmue 3, Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Definitive Edition, Metro Last Light Redux and Homefront: The Revolution.
As for new games, Express Online will keep this article updated with the official announcement and any leaks.
