Having sold through its shipment today, both Very and GAME are no longer offering PS5 consoles to buy.

However, a second wave of consoles could be made available at GAME this week as part of its regular sales cycle.

Like in the past, GAME is expected to drop another shipment of PS5 consoles this week, usually made up of cancelled orders from the first.

This means it will probably include a very small number of consoles to buy and will sell out quickly online.

PS5 Stock UK – a trusted source when it comes to PlayStation 5 stock drops – alerted gamers to the new retail release from GAME and Very, telling followers on Twitter:

“You are highly advised to use the Very mobile app. The product listings currently don’t exist because the queue goes up before Very lists the products, so simply copy-paste our link to your internet browser (Safari etc.), and it should ask if you’d want to be taken to the app.

This should take you into a queue on the mobile app. You may ask why the mobile app queue is advised over the desktop. Well, from our 1+ year experience, we know that the app lets users through the queue much before an internet browser.”

For those who missed out today, more PS5 stock is expected to be released by other UK retailers later in January.

According to PS5 Stock UK, Argos could be ready to provide more next-gen PlayStation consoles between January 25 and January 28.

If it does land on one of those dates, the team expect the sales event to begin online at around 8am GMT and include Digital and Disc editions of the base console.

Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.

And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.

CURRYS: Currys does not host purely digital restock events and there has been no indication when they might offer more consoles online. The retailer chooses to sell the PlayStation 5 via its brick and mortar stores via a ticketing system. Those interested must sign up on the Currys PS5 page to have the chance of being selected, which will then be followed by waiting until the next shipment of consoles arrives.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 restock at GAME is expected to happen in late January or early February.
