Rise Of The Tomb Raider: How To Unlock Each Outfit

Throughout the years, Lara Croft has donned many outfits during her adventures. From short shorts to scuba gear to winter coats, the protagonist has tried a range of styles. And in Rise of the Tomb Raider, it's up to you what she wears.

Simply go to the weapons section at a base camp and head to the clothing tab to switch Lara's outfit. However, when you first reach that page, you might not have a lot of options. After all, the game doesn't just hand you every set of clothing straight away. You need to earn them first, and here's how to do it.

Story Outfits

These are the six outfits that you automatically acquire by progressing through the game's story.

Leather Jacket

Lara dons this set of casual clothing in a flashback. And when the first opportunity to change outfits arrives, it'll be an option.

Desert Tank Top

During the protagonist's time in Syria, she attempts to beat the heat in this tank top. It becomes available early in the game.

Expedition Jacket

This big jacket is the first outfit Lara wears in the entire story. She uses it in Siberia, which is also when you unlock it.

Gray Henley

On the surface, the Gray Henley doesn't look like the warmest gear, but it's actually a thermal shirt. The outfit unlocks during the Soviet Installation section, as this is the shirt Lara is wearing when captured.

Remnant Jacket

After meeting Jacob and escaping from Trinity's clutches in the Soviet Installation, your new friend gives you this jacket. At least, it seems to be a gift from Jacob as Lara is suddenly wearing it in the morning.

Unlockable Outfits

There are several outfits in the game that you need to unlock. And each one reduces the delay before your health regenerates. Here are those sets of clothing:

Huntress

The Huntress outfit is a reward for completing the A Hearty Meal side mission. However, to unlock that mission, you need to do the Surveillance Disruption one first. The two quests are given by the same person, who's located in the Geothermal Valley area. For Surveillance Disruption, you need to bring down nearby drones, and for A Heart Meal, you must gather mushrooms and Boar meet.

Sacra Umbra

To unlock the Sacra Umbra attire, you need to do the Ancient Secrets optional mission in the Geothermal Valley. The quest isn't a quick one as it requires you to complete all of the challenge tombs in the game.

Commando

You don't need to complete any missions to unlock this outfit. Instead, you have to purchase the attire from the Supply Shack in the Soviet Installation region. This transaction will cost you 50 Byzantine coins.

Infiltrator

The Infiltrator outfit serves as a reward for completing the optional mission known as The Unlucky Ones. In it, you need to rescue remnant prisoners. First, you'll have to do the Communications Breakdown quest.

Battle Worn

There's a guy in the Geothermal Valley that gives you the Defensive Strategy quest. Once you complete the side mission, you unlock the Battle Worn outfit.

Community Rewards

At one point, Rise of the Tomb Raider had two community challenges running. They have since been completed and everyone now has access to these two outfits.

Blue Henley

Originally, the community has to collectively raid 2 million tombs. Now, you receive the Blue Henley automatically.

Whiteout Jacket

For this jacket, the community needed to collectively find 100 million collectibles. You can now find the outfit at your base camp.

DLC Outfits

Many of the costumes in the game are downloadable content. In most cases, you just need to DLC pack to get them, but sometimes you have to do additional things. All of them and the bonuses they give you are here:

Sparrowhawk

As you'd expect from the name, this outfit is a part of the Sparrowhawk pack. While wearing it, non-predatory animals don't scare as easily, which makes them easier to hunt.

Nightshade

To get the Nightshade outfit, you need to have the Wilderness Survivor pack. Once equipped, you get the chance to loot exotic animal resources from regular animals.

Apex Predator

With the Apex Predator DLC, you get this cool-looking attire. And it decreases the damage you take from predatory animals.

Hope's Bastion

The Hope's Bastion pack provides you with this set of clothing. Any archers may want to equip this one as it allows you to sometimes fire arrows without reducing your ammo.

Ancient Vanguard

This outfit from the Ancient Vanguard DLC looks very protective. And it does boost your defense by reducing the delay before your health begins to regenerate.

Shadowrunner

Shadowrunner is a set of clothing that's available as a part of the Tactical Survivor DLC. With it, you occasionally won't reduce your ammo count while shooting your guns.

Spirit Weaver

The Remnant Resistance pack includes several things, such as the Spirit Weaver attire. When you wear it, there's a chance you can heal without using any resources.

Pioneer

If you've got the Endurance Mode DLC, you can equip the Pioneer outfit. It makes you deal more melee damage.

Immortal Guardian

The sturdy Immortal Guardian costume is part of the Prophet's Legacy DLC. But you need two bear hide, ten chromite ore, and 35 salvage to craft the piece. Once you do, you can put it on and receive reduced damage from Greek fire.

Siberian Ranger

With the Siberian Ranger expansion downloaded, you can craft this getup using five boar fat, 15 technical parts, and 35 cloths. While wearing the outfit, you get an increased carrying capacity for your special ammunition.

Wraithskin

Baba Yaga is one of the most compelling story DLCs in Rise Of The Tomb Raider. And once you beat it, you unlock the Wraithskin costume, which increases the duration of your poison arrow cloud.

Ushanka

To get this one, you need to rescue 15 prisoners in the Cold Darkness Awakened DLC. With the attire equipped, you take less damage from melee attacks.

Valiant Explorer

Originally, the Valiant Explorer attire was a giveaway. However, now you can buy it separately. If you wear it, your explosive arrows have a bigger impact radius.

Reimagined Antarctica

This outfit is a tribute to an attire Lara wore in Tomb Raider 3. It's automatically at your base camp if you've got the 20 Year Celebration Pack.

Classic Outfits

The 20 Year Celebration Pack includes a collection of classic outfits from previous Tomb Raider titles. They're automatically at your base camp after you've beaten the main story.
