Saints Row: The 7 Best Skills To Equip

Skills have been in the Saints Row series for a few years now. However, they work a little differently in the 2022 game. Every time you go up a level, you unlock a skill. Yet, you can only equip four at a time – the passive ones are always enabled. As such, you need to decide which ones deserve a place in your arsenal.

Unfortunately, it's not an easy choice, as you don't just need to look at what they do but also how many flow diamonds they consume. The greatest skills typically have a good balance between effectiveness and consumption. Or they're at least worth the flow they use up. The following skills are the best examples of that.

Proximity Mine

Interestingly in Saints Row, explosives are skills instead of consumable items. As such, you can equip Proximity Mine and use the explosives whenever you want. It's not the most powerful skill in the game, but it has value.

For starters, enemies usually come in groups, and the blast from the mine covers a decent-sized area. So, if you throw one in front of or directly at them, it can hurt a bunch of your foes at once. Another positive of the skill is it's one of the first you unlock, and it only costs one flow diamond to use.

Intercession

An even fight in this game is a rare sight. You're usually heavily outnumbered by your foes, and you're forced to overcome the odds. You can make things a little better with the Intercession skill, though. This ability allows you to call for immediate backup.

While the likes of Eli, Kev, and Neenah won't turn up, a few generic Saints will. They're not the greatest fighters alive, but they cause some chaos and even serve as a distraction. So, it's a useful tool when you're getting overwhelmed by the enemy.

Berserker

If you're a fan of using melee weapons, then the Berserker skill might be for you. This is because it gives you a temporary boost to your melee attacks, and it's a very noticeable boost, too.

Once activated, you can easily swing your way through groups of enemies as it only takes one or two hits to kill most types of foes. Even armored targets don't last too long against your Berserker-fuelled rampage. The only downside is that it doesn't last very long. But you still get enough time to make an impact.

Transfusion

There isn't an abundance of ways to heal in Saints Row. Outside of combat, your HP automatically fills back up. When you're in battle, though, takedowns are the only way to replenish your health. At least, they're the only way without the use of skills.

The Transfusion skill, in particular, is handy when it comes to filling up your red bar. All you have to do is activate the ability and attack your adversaries. While doing so, your own HP will go up, as well as your allies. It's an effective way to prolong your life.

Flaming Punch

What happens when you use this skill is pretty self-explanatory as you throw a fire punch. It doesn't set your enemies ablaze, but it is a very impactful strike.

On regular enemies, it kills them in a single blow. As for armored foes, the punch sends them flying to the ground, making them vulnerable to further attacks. In fact, it's one of the best ways to deal with these yellow health-bar troops, as most other skills don't do much to them. On top of that, you only need one flow diamond to use the ability. Thus, you can unleash these punches regularly.

Quantum Aperture

The Quantum Aperture skill is a unique one as you don't unlock it by leveling up. Instead, you get it by completing one of the Alpha Test quests, which are tied to the Eurekabator venture. The skill enables you to see and shoot through walls with the help of a large blue window.

Naturally, this allows you to kill people behind cover, but it can do much more than that. You can also use it to bypass swat shields, baton spinners, and even car doors. The possibilities are almost endless, and it only uses up two flow diamonds when it seems like it should be three.

D4th Blossom

It takes a while to unlock D4th Blossom as you get it for reaching level 19. Thankfully, though, it's worth the wait as the skill is a perfect combination of style and substance. When you initiate the skill, you begin to jump and spin around while firing your guns.

It's the sort of outrageous move you'd see in a highly stylized action movie. And it's extremely effective, as it kills almost everyone in your vicinity. Any unarmored individuals nearby are certainly goners, but armored troops aren't safe either. As such, it earns the name D4th Blossom.
