Sia is dancing in a sky full of stars in her new music video for Final Fantasy 14. Square Enix released the video for her rendition of Frank Sinatra's legendary romantic song, "Fly Me To The Moon", to celebrate the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker.
Square Enix said in the press release that it collaborated with the Grammy-nominated artist in dedication to the 25 million registered players worldwide, who have helped the MMORPG grow over the last eight years – from the game's relaunch with A Realm Reborn to the impending release of Endwalker. "Fly Me To The Moon" has also been released on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, and other music streaming services.
In the music video, Sia glows alight as she dances through the cosmos while singing Sinatra's famous lyrics. Cutscenes from Final Fantasy 14 play in the background, which is an appropriate play on the fact that Endwalker will be taking players to the Moon in-game. Relive nearly a decade's worth of your memories playing the MMO with your friends and prepare for the next expansion — and dare we say, moonwalk — by watching the music video below.
"Fly Me To The Moon" is not only a favorite song among jazz and swing music enthusiasts, but it has also flown its way over to anime before it landed in the gaming industry. The song has been covered by various artists as the ending theme for the classic anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion. The last artist to cover the song for the anime franchise was Hikaru Utada, who added a genius prologue to the remix for the 2007 reboot, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.
Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker launches on December 7, but Early Access to the expansion will be granted to players who registered with a pre-order bonus code from tomorrow through Friday, December 10. That same pre-order code will give you the Wind-up Palom Minion and Menphina Earring, which increase the EXP gained when defeating enemies by 30 percent.
