Someone Made The Great British Bake Off In Far Cry 5

The Far Cry series isn't something you would normally associate with popular British food brands, but here we are. While Ubisoft would likely prefer you to think of Giancarlo Esposito's performance in Far Cry 6, Mojo Swoptops is busy having people buy steak bakes and worrying about soggy bottoms in Far Cry 5. The YouTuber gained notoriety when they created a spot-on replica of Greggs in the second to last Far Cry game, and now they're back with another bakery-inspired creation.

This time Mojo Swoptops has created somewhere we can watch people bake rather than a shop in which baked goods can be bought once that process is complete. Their latest creation is a Far Cry replica of the Great British Bake Off tent. A British institution that has gained worldwide fame, and now you can see it in Far Cry complete with contestants.

Competitive baking is something of a British concept, though as touched upon above, GBBO has sparked all sorts of spinoffs and is watched all over the world. There is every chance those checking out the video below won't be familiar with the show, which might make Mojo Swoptops' description of how it works a little confusing. “One contestant is eliminated in each round, with each death adding ₩100 million to the potential ₩45.6 billion grand prize,” it reads.

No, GBBO was not inspired by Squid Game, or vice versa, although if the show were to take place inside the Far Cry universe there is a far bigger chance that the contestants might die should their flapjacks not be up to scratch. Hopefully, Mojo Swoptops' Bake Off tent won't meet the same fate as the GoldenEye levels that were recreated using Far Cry 5's level editor. The levels were removed, possibly ahead of the iconic N64 game getting an official remaster or re-release.

Mojo Swoptops told TheGamer last year they were inspired to recreate Greggs in Far Cry 5 purely because it's so British, and every British person can instantly identify with it. It's likely the same thinking went into giving GBBO the Far Cry treatment. Despite also having meticulously crafted the Taj Mahal in the game too, it's stuff based on British baking brands that get the most attention.
