Best Buy Black Friday Sale

October 13 and 14

Best Buy is kicking off Black Friday tomorrow in what is perhaps the biggest move we’ve ever seen to compete with Amazon Prime Day. Over the two days, we’ll get the first of Best Buy’s Black Friday deals on dozens of items, but it won’t be your only chance to take advantage of Black Friday discounts–Best Buy will roll more out later this month and into November. Best Buy’s full Black Friday ad drops later this month. As usual, contactless curbside pickup and store pickup is available along with same-day and next-day delivery for many items. All deals come with Best Buy’s Black Friday guarantee this year–if the price on one of the deals goes lower before November 28, customers will automatically be reimbursed the difference.

Best Buy shared a few of the upcoming Black Friday deals to expect for next week, including a Samsung 70-inch 4K Smart TV for $530 (was $750), JBL Free True Wireless headphones for $70 (was $150), and laptops starting at $120.

Walmart Big Save Event

Live now through October 15

Walmart got the jump on Amazon by launching its big sale a couple of days before Prime Day. Walmart’s “Big Save” event is already underway, having started yesterday. It runs through Thursday, October 15, ending a day after Prime Day. The Walmart sale brings steep discounts across all of its categories, including games and electronics. Sales include first-party Switch games for $40, the JVC 55-inch 4K Roku Smart TV for $248, and the AirPods Pro for $199. Walmart promised “Black Friday-like savings” during the Big Save event, so it’ll be worth checking out what games, accessories, and more are on sale throughout the week.

GameStop 1UP Sale

October 13 and 14

GameStop’s 1UP sale will run concurrently with Prime Day and aims to get you to come back multiple times throughout the 48-hour event. Every four hours, GameStop’s deals will refresh. Expect a heavy dose of game deals for PS4, Xbox One, and PC as well as toys and collectibles at discounted prices.

Select early deals are live now, including a buy two, get two free promotion on all pre-owned games $30 or less. GameStop will follow up its 1UP Sale with a four-day Pro Days event–the first two days will be exclusive to PowerUp Rewards Pro members.

Target Deal Days

October 13 and 14

Target’s annual Deal Days sale overlaps directly with Amazon Prime Day on October 13 and 14, and it marks the beginning of Target’s holiday shopping season, the retailer said in a press release. The sale will feature online discounts on hundreds of thousands of items, more than double the number of deals last year. The vast majority of deals will be available with contactless Drive Up or Order Pickup if you want to pick up your order that day, and many of them will be eligible for same-day delivery as well–no membership required.

Early deals are starting to go live at Target, just as they have at Amazon, though the pickings are currently slim. The best deals, according to Target, will only be available to Target Circle members, the retailer’s free loyalty program, so you may want to sign up for that before Target Deal Days starts.

Newegg Fantastech Sale

October 13

Newegg’s Fantastech sale is coming back this year to compete with Amazon Prime Day and offer steep discounts on tech and electronics. A countdown is live on Newegg’s website for the sale, which begins October 13 at midnight PT / 3 AM ET. The sale page doesn’t say how long the sale will last, but it’ll likely run through October 14 to span a full 48 hours as it has in the past. As with other sales on this list, no membership is required to shop the Fantastech sale. If you’re a PC gamer, you’ll definitely want to check this one out, as Newegg tends to offer some of the best deals on graphics cards, SSDs, gaming desks, ergonomic chairs, and more.

Fanatical Insanity Sale

Live now

PC key retailer Fanatical has brought back its Insanity Sale this week offering a series of flash deals on Steam games and more. It’s not clear how long this sale will be running, but there appear to be new deals going live about every 10 minutes, and those deals are then available for 24 hours. Fanatical tends to offer some really great prices on Steam games, oftentimes beating Steam’s own sale prices, so it’s worth bookmarking the page to see what deals crop up. If you buy a game at Fanatical, you’ll receive the key via email and can redeem it in Steam right away to add to your library.

Microsoft Early Holiday Sale

Live now

Microsoft’s early holiday sale kicked off late last week and runs through October 14. It focuses on tech, including great deals on gaming laptops such as the Razer Blade 15 and Lenovo Legion 5. If you’re in the market for a 2-in-1, Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7 is available for up to $300 off. You can also save $300 on a solid Samsung Note 20 Essentials Bundle, which includes a Bluetooth controller and subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
