The Latest 'NBA 2K21' Trailer Highlights Next-Gen Graphics On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

2K Games released a new trailer for its upcoming NBA 2K21 and its upcoming launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The trailer showcases the next-gen graphics and environmental improvements over its current iteration on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The footage above, captured on the PS5, highlights gameplay segments in a game between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors. Graphics feature lifelike recreations of individual players and a vastly packed court and crowd during the pregame segment. Everyone on screen also appears to have their own AI routines, including the audience, which gives off a much more natural feel to the game.

Moreover, examples of improved lighting models, animations, and physics are shown throughout. 2K and the developer have stated it will rebuild the player movement system while also adding new on-court animation and collision engines.

NBA 2K21 will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at launch (November 12 and November 10, respectively) with an expanded 202-track soundtrack. However, the title will only be available as a free update for owners who bought the Mamba Forever edition. Otherwise, the base game will cost $70 USD on next-gen systems.

In other gaming news, Sony expects the PlayStation 5 to sell over 7 million units by April 2021.
