The Quarry: Achievement/Trophy Guide

In addition to dozens of collectibles and hundreds of possible scenarios, The Quarry also has plenty of Achievements / Trophies to earn. Some will unlock just from playing the game, while others require a specific series of events to play out in the correct order. Only the most dedicated players will unlock them all.

Due to the requirements for some of the more complex accolades, it is impossible to unlock every Achievement or Trophy in a single playthrough. Even if you start midway through the game via Chapter Select, you'll still need to complete the game several times over to see everything.

This guide contains major spoilers for every possible story path in The Quarry. We highly recommend completing the game at least once before

Prologue, Chapters 1-10, And Epilogue

Twelve Achievements / Trophies can be earned simply by playing the game from start to finish. You'll receive an accolade at the conclusion of the Prologue, each Chapter, and the ending credits. These are unlocked regardless of who lives and who dies, so you're guaranteed to get a healthy start to your collection just by completing the game once.

What's This, It's All Coming Together, And Meddling Kids

You can collect three accolades by finding the Clues hidden throughout the game. You'll unlock What's This upon finding the first one, which can be done as early as the Prologue.

It's All Coming Together is unlocked when you find a Clue that reveals information about another Clue. Matching Clues allow you to reveal the new information by inspecting them in the pause menu.

Meddling Kids is unlocked if you collect every Clue in the game on a single playthrough. This can only be done if Nick and Abigail take a walk through Shady Glade in Chapter Two, and prevents you from collecting every Tarot Card.

Forewarned Is Forearmed / Decked Out

Finding Eliza's lost Tarot Cards can earn up to two Achievements / Trophies. After completing a Chapter in which you found one or more Tarot Cards, Eliza will offer to predict the future. Accept her offer and choose a card to unlock Forewarned Is Forearmed.

If you collect all twenty-two Tarot Cards on a single playthrough, you'll earn the Decked Out accolade. This can only be done if Nick and Abigail take a walk along Rocky Road in Chapter Two, and prevents you from finding every Clue.

Hard Pass

The opposite of Decked Out, Hard Pass is unlocked by completing a playthrough without ever receiving a Tarot reading from Eliza. This is easiest if you avoid collecting Tarot Cards altogether, but you can always refuse a reading if you do pick up any cards.

The exception to this is The Hierophant, found near the stairs in the storm shelter in Chapter Nine. Picking up this card automatically forces a reading at the end of the Chapter, so you'll need to avoid it if you want the accolade.

The Truth Is Out There / Conspiracy Theorist

One piece of Evidence is hidden in each of the game's ten main Chapters. Each one that you find changes the dialogue in the podcast that plays during the end credits. Finding your first piece of Evidence unlocks The Truth Is Out There, while collecting all ten in a single playthrough earns Conspiracy Theorist.

Creature Feature

All you need to do to unlock Creature Feature is start a new game in Movie Mode. Which settings you choose don't matter, and you don't need to complete the hands-off playthrough.

Reactionist

Interrupts are events where you can press the Interact button to take an action before the timer runs out. They're optional, but the decision of whether to perform an Interrupt affects the course of the story. If you perform fifteen Interrupts in a single playthrough, you'll unlock the Reactionist Achievement / Trophy.

You're Breathtaking!

This accolade is earned by successfully avoiding five pursuers via Don't Breathe events in a single playthrough. When prompted, hold the Interact button until the heartbeat sound effect stops and the red border disappears from the screen. If you're using a controller, it will stop vibrating when it's safe to release the button.

Peanut Butter Butterpops!

The text for this Achievement / Trophy is somewhat misleading. While it reads, "Never missed in a combat encounter," it also requires that you always fire a gun when able. If you hold your fire at any point during a playthrough, you won't be able to earn the accolade on that run.

The nature of this Achievement / Trophy means you'll need to shoot and kill Jacob when he returns to the campfire.

Alternately, you can let him drown in Chapter Three to prevent him from coming back.

Nick Of Time

After the first werewolf attack, Ryan will go into the woods to rescue Nick. Take both shortcuts and flawlessly execute the ensuing input challenges to earn the Nick Of Time Achievement / Trophy.

Just A Flesh Wound

If Abigail and Emma break into the cabin at the beginning of the game, the counselors will be able to hide inside during Chapter Five. In this case, Dylan will suffer a werewolf bite on his wrist. As Ryan, agree to cut off Dylan's hand and use the chainsaw nearby. Doing so will unlock Just A Flesh Wound.

Lovers' Quarrel

When Nick is about to transform into a werewolf in Chapter Six, don't shoot him. He will proceed to kill Abigail, unlocking the Lovers Quarrel Achievement / Trophy.

If you have Death Rewind activated, you will not earn the accolade if you use it to save Abigail. The game must proceed to the next scene and set Abigail's death in stone.

Bizarre Yet Bonafide

When Laura explores the police station in Chapter Seven, go upstairs to investigate the empty offices. Enter the first door and read the birthday card tacked to the wall, then enter the third door and examine the calendar to the left of the entryway. Laura will use the information to deduce Travis' date of birth.

Go back downstairs and take a right. Go up the small set of stairs to the landing and enter the doors on the left to find Travis' office. Use the computer, and Laura will use Travis' birthday as the password. A cutscene will follow, and you'll earn the Bizarre Yet Bonafide Achievement / Trophy.

Above The Law

In Chapter Seven, the third door upstairs has a set of lockers on the right. Inside is a syringe which Laura can use to escape. Be sure to hide it behind the loose brick in your cell before going to sleep.

During Laura's escape, if she successfully uses the syringe to neutralize Travis the two will eventually agree to work together to end the werewolf curse. For this to happen, Ryan must shoot werewolf Chris during the showdown at the end of Chapter Nine. Failing to do so will result in both Ryan and Laura's deaths.

Phlebotomy

In Chapter Nine, have Ryan evade Bobby until he collapses. Laura will offer to bite Ryan, saving his life by turning into a werewolf. If Ryan accepts Laura's offer, you'll unlock the Phlebotomy Achievement / Trophy.

Mutually Assured

At the end of Chapter Nine, when Ryan has the opportunity to shoot Chris in his werewolf form, don't do it. If Ryan holds his fire he will be killed by the werewolf, causing the transformed Laura to continue attacking Travis. Laura and Travis will kill one another, unlocking the Mutually Assured Achievement / Trophy.

Nobody's Fool

This Achievement / Trophy is earned by getting Jacob to admit to Emma that he sabotaged the van. A lot of things have to go right to make this happen, so you'll probably need to dedicate a playthrough just to triggering the conversation. For starters, Jacob needs to survive until Chapter Ten, which means avoiding his many potential deaths and solving the circuit breaker puzzle in Chapter Eight.

In order for Jacob and Emma to run into each other in Chapter Ten, Emma must become a werewolf. When she is alone on the island in Chapter Four, search the bags before opening the trapdoor. Use the taser to stun the werewolf, then use the bear spray to drive it back when it corners you on the bridge.

When Emma returns to the treehouse at the end of the chase sequence, open the trapdoor in the ceiling to escape but fail the input challenge while you're climbing the ladder. Emma will still get away, but be bitten. From there, continue Emma's storyline until she reaches the lodge in Chapter Six.

When Kaitlyn's team finds Emma in the van, she will have transformed into a werewolf. She may kill Abigail or Dylan depending on your actions, and if Kaitlyn has the silver shotgun shell Laura gave her don't use it. Regular ammo will drive Emma into the woods.

In Chapter Nine, have Ryan shoot and kill werewolf Chris. This will turn both Max and Emma back into humans. If Jacob is alive, he and Emma will reunite just before Kaitlyn's battle in the lodge in Chapter Ten. During their conversation, have Jacob be honest to unlock Nobody's Fool.

Family Matters

Family Matters is a hidden accolade that's earned for killing all the Hacketts in a single playthrough. If you successfully eliminate Jedediah, Constance, Travis, Chris, Bobby, Caleb, and Kaylee, the Achievement / Trophy will unlock as soon as the last living Hackett dies (usually Travis).

Should've Gone To The Motel

If Laura escapes jail using the syringe in Chapter Seven and Ryan dies from blood loss in Chapter Nine (by refusing Laura's werewolf bite), a final scuffle will ensue between Travis and Laura. Succeed at the input challenges and shoot Travis, which will prevent Laura from finding out about Silas. Rather than hunt the White Wolf, she will return to the island to meet Max.

When Max returns to human form in Chapter Ten, Laura will be waiting for him at the pier. The Should've Gone To The Motel Achievement / Trophy will appear after the cutscene that follows.

The White Wolf

If Laura survives to the end of Chapter Nine, she and Travis will return to the Harum Scarum fire site in search of Silas. If Ryan is still alive, he will accompany them.

When Silas attacks the car, succeed at all input challenges to avoid a crash, grabbing the wheel to steer while Travis is stunned. When Silas escapes into the forest, the group will pursue him. Shoot and kill Silas in his nest to earn the White Wolf Achievement / Trophy and Eliza's eternal hatred.

Rough Night

Rough Night is unlocked at the end of Chapter Ten if and only if all nine playable characters are alive. Accomplishing this feat requires equal parts caution and bravery. Check out our survival guide for a full rundown on how to keep everyone breathing.

Hackett's Quarry Massacre

The exact opposite of Rough Night, this accolade is earned for getting all nine playable characters killed in a single playthrough. It's harder than it sounds, since some characters' deaths can actually save the lives of others. Our all-deaths guide has all the details on eliminating the counselors one by one.

Last Man Standing

This Achievement / Trophy is earned if Ryan is the only survivor from the nine playable characters at the end of the game. This is accomplished similarly to an all-deaths run, with the following exceptions:

  • Ryan must shoot at Bobby when he is dragging Nick away at the beginning of the night, making him drop the vial of werewolf blood.
  • Laura must incapacitate Travis using the syringe in Chapter Seven so that he doesn't kill her later.
  • Ryan must accept Laura's bite in Chapter Nine, preventing him from bleeding to death.
  • In the final hunt, Laura should let Ryan keep the werewolf blood, then refuse to kill Silas. The werewolf will kill Travis and Laura, but ignore Ryan thanks to the scent of the blood.

The Final Girl

If everyone from the main cast is dead except for Kaitlyn at the end of the game, you'll unlock the Final Girl Achievement / Trophy. Follow all the steps for an all-deaths run, but make sure to do the following:

  • Help Emma break into the cabin as Abigail in Chapter One, and keep the stuffed rabbit inside. Abigail will eventually leave it in the lodge kitchen.
  • During Kaitlyn's battle with werewolf Caleb in Chapter Ten, succeed at all the input challenges until you're chased into the kitchen. Use the toy rabbit to lure Caleb into the freezer, locking him in and saving Kaitlyn.

Blood Pact

A variation on the "everyone survives" or "everyone dies" accolades, Blood Pact requires that all nine playable characters are bitten and become werewolves. It is possible to unlock this Achievement / Trophy while also keeping everyone alive for Rough Night.

The steps to getting everyone infected are exacting, so be sure to read our complete Blood Pact guide before making the attempt!
