Triangle Strategy's tenth chapter has you dealing with the buyer of a large quantity of illegal salt – if you decided to go along with Minister Sorsley Ende's plan, that is. One option available to the crew is to reveal Roland's identity to the buyer, who turned out to be Svarog, in order to gain his trust.
If this is the path you chose, you'll have a longer chapter to deal with than the alternative, but an easier fight. That said, there's still a lot to go over, so here we go.
Side Story: Central Aesfrost
Sycras, someone you may remember if you've been around Aesfrost before, receives an urgent message. It turns out Svarog's dealings aren't so secret after all.
Main Story: Twinsgate
In a private discussion with Svarog, Serenoa and friends speak frankly about what their next moves should be and the plans they already have. The conversation is cut short by the reveal of a spy. The party gives chase.
Exploration Event: Twinsgate
This event occurs automatically once Hughette shoots the spy down. It's an opportunity to chat to your comrades and explore the area a bit – one that will inevitably become a battlefield shortly. As always, there are items to find, too.
Items, Notes, And Information
Items | |
---|---|
Immobility Recovery Pellet x2 | On the other side of the gate from the dead spy. In the center, on the ground. |
Ranged Firestone x2 | Opposite Frederica over a gap. |
Notes | |
Missive Dropped by Spy | On the top of the gate where the spy fell. |
Conviction Conversations
Once you've picked up the items, Hughette has a concern to share with you.
Conviction Conversation: Hughette | |
---|---|
Your reflexes are faster than most, Hughette. They served us well in the mines that day, too. | Liberty |
Our lives would have been forfeit had anyone learned of our illicit dealings and Roland's identity. Do not doubt your decision now, Hughette. | Utility |
You saved Roland by preventing his secret from getting out, just as any upstanding member of the Kingsguard should. | Morality |
Once that's over, conclude the exploration and prepare for battle.
Combat Event: Twinsgate
Sycras, the Aesfrosti Constable, confronts Serenoa and co. hoping to make a salt bust. Instead, they find the dead body and jump to all the wrong conclusions. One thing leads to another, and we're forced into a fight.

Fighting against Sycras isn't fun, as his heart is in the right place. You're up against some dangerous enemies in this battle, so remember to inspect their stats and abilities before charging in.
Twinsgate Combat Strategy |
---|
The combination of the terrain and the recommended units should tell you all you need to know about how this battle is won – ranged combat using the map's great verticality. The more archers you can employ, the better – many of the enemy squad's units are melee combatants and won't be able to do a thing in retaliation.
Still, be wary of these foes. For the first time, you're facing Elite soldiers. These have stronger weapons than usual and can increase their stats with an ability. The Elite Bowman is especially tricky as his Freezing Arrow skill will reduce the target's speed for a few turns, and speed is very important in this game. The Elite Blade is particularly threatening as he can counter melee attacks and has Spinning Slash, just like Serenoa
The Shieldbearers all have Shield Slam, something that will prove very annoying when trying to rush towards the bowmen and Sycras himself.
Speaking of Sycras, he's not as personally threatening as other bosses you've faced, but he's annoying as heck to deal with. He has high defense and magic defense, unusually for a boss, and his skills are centered around helping his allies out. Cheer is very powerful and will have him buffing his allies and enabling their best attacks, and Apprehend is a nasty skill that may immobilize one of your units.
You don't want Sycras to be around any longer than he needs to be, so dealing with him is pretty important. One handy trick is to use the Missed Opportunity Quietus to make him skip a turn – this is most useful once he starts coming to attack you. Thankfully, Sycras will largely stay put, only buffing his allies close to him and watching the fight from afar until you take it to him.
Speaking of Quietuses, you can use Lightwave to move one of your archers up to the top of the gate early on in the fight to give them a headstart. You'll want to be moving them across the other side of the map as soon as you can so you can deal with the Aesfrosti Battlemage and Bowman, and then surround the fighters on the ground. Moving Roland across the top of the gate is also a good idea thanks to his high speed and movement.
Be aware, though, that the reinforcements that arrive partway through this fight will appear near Sycras's starting position. Don't send units without some way of dealing with them.
Frederica is as useful as she always is in these snowy maps. Use her multi-target fire attacks to create large puddles of water through which you can electrify your opponents with lightning. If you have her, Medina is also useful for this, and she can both melt snow and cause electric chain reactions in the same turn with her Double Items skill. The terrain is easy to bend to your will on this map.
Another optional character who can show his usefulness in this battle is Lionel. Use Inciting Whispers to entice an enemy to your side – preferably one of the Elites, and you can quickly turn the tide of battle. You only need a little bit of momentum to do this, after all.
Svarog joins you in this battle and after a few turns, he'll fully join the fray. He's a devastatingly powerful warrior, but keep an eye on his HP all the same. If he falls, it's game over. That said, he's unlikely to fall thanks to his great stats – he can use the very strong Knock Back ability and likes to use it to finish off two opponents at a time.
Once the struggle is over, Sycras will be… convinced to leave you alone. For your trouble, you now have some Oak and a Medal of Bravery – use these as you see fit.
Main Story: Twinsgate
Pledging to fight by your side, Svarog provides Serenoa with 10,000 Coins. The game is extra nice about it and adds the money directly to your party coffers, ready to be spent on items and upgrades.
Chapter 10, Part 3 – The Voice That Calls Us
After fulfilling his part of the deal with Sorsley and taking the salt to Aesfrost, Serenoa returns to Hyzante, though with one more ally in his pocket now.
This chapter has the party exploring various corners of Hyzante, learning what they can about current affairs, Sorsley, and the rest of the Saintly Seven.
Side Story: Citadel Of The Sands
Sorsley seethes at the fact that Serenoa and co. have been granted an audience with the hierophant himself. Tenebris seems to know more than he lets on.
Main Story: Hierophant's Palace
Sorsley brings Serenoa before the hierophant and the Saintly Seven. It turns out to be an inquiry into Sorsley's corruption, and things very quickly come to a thrilling point. And then, a proposition.
