Unpacking Is Moving To PlayStation Soon

Games don't always have to be stressful experiences where you're being chased by zombies or embedding your controller in some drywall after conceding a last-minute goal. There are games out there that are intended to be easygoing and even relaxing. The Sims has been doing it for the last two decades. Build your house, create your Sims, and aid them in going about their daily lives. As long as you make sure they eat, go to the bathroom, and earn a little clash, it's a pretty soothing experience.

There is one thing missing from The Sims experience. The unpacking. When your Sims arrive in their new home, everything is ready and waiting for them. If that's an element you wish was a part of the games, well do we have a game for you. Unpacking launched last year, and it's exactly what it says on the tin. A game where you move from house to house, tasked with unpacking boxes and setting up your new home upon arrival.

The best news of all is Unpacking will soon be available on PS4 and PS5. Witch Beam revealed the news via a new trailer which you can check out below. The trailer gives you a feel of what Unpacking is all about, and as you can probably tell, it's a pretty easygoing game and a relaxing alternative to the incredibly stressful Lands Between. Since Elden Ring is all anyone is talking about right now, and 12 million copies have been sold, it's probably safe to assume that's the game you might need a break from.

There's a tremendous amount of detail in Unpacking as you fold up clothes, change up the soundtrack, and even root around for stuff someone has put in the wrong box. Yes, while the game is simple at first, it does throw a few curveballs your way as you progress. Moving house is a pretty stressful experience that absolutely nobody enjoys in real life after all. Unpacking wouldn't be an entirely accurate simulator if it was nothing but chilled-out, relaxing fun.

Unpacking is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, and even through Game Pass on Xbox. It's unclear when exactly it will be available on PS4 and PS5, but we now know it's coming soon. Perhaps it will be included in one of PlayStation's new PS Plus tiers.
