Warner Bros. Announces MultiVersus Tech Test For Next Week

Those wanting some battling fun with characters from the DC Universe, Adventure Time, and Game of Thrones, among others, have something to look forward to. Warner Bros. Games has announced that it is holding a MultiVersus tech test.

The tests will take place from February 25 to March 7 and players who want to participate can register here, although doing so doesn't necessarily mean you'll be definitely be picked, but it certainly helps to sign-up to have the chance of being selected to test the game.

MultiVersus is a Smash Bros-style fighting game with a roster of characters drawn from several well-known franchises. These characters include Arya Stark, Tom and Jerry, Shaggy Rogers from Scooby-Doo, Bugs Bunny, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time. Players will also select from Batman, Harley Quinn, Superman, and Wonder Woman from the DC stable.

MultiVersus is set to be a free-to-play multiplayer with players learning the special abilities of their characters, such as Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth and Shaggy's sandwich-throwing attack. Game of Thrones' Arya Stark can face-swap, although how this becomes an attacking ability is as yet unknown, while Superman shoots lasers out of his eyes because hello, it's Superman. Players will face-off in a 2-vs-2 format, but there's also 1-vs-1 and a chaotic sounding free-for-all option. Like Smash Bros. players battle on different stages and try to knock each other off their platforms and outside the boundaries.

Warner Bros. is scheduling the game for Microsoft Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S sometime this year. No definitive launch date has been announced, but the fact the studio has announced this play test bodes well. The game will support full cross-play so console and PC owners will be able to fight each other with no reason to cheat or hack whatsoever, alright. The devs have also confirmed that MultiVersus will feature a strong cast of actors on voiceover duty, and these include Kevin Conroy, Matthew Lillard, Maisie Williams, John DiMaggio (of Bender fame), Estelle, and Tara Strong.
