White Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller Might Launch In September According To Leak

For those still holding out hope for a white version of the Elite Series 2 controller, we have some potentially good news for you – a recent leak is showing a release date for the yet-to-be-announced controller, which will apparently launch in late September. While nothing has been confirmed, this is the second time this month that the item has been spotted in the wild.

This release date leak comes via Amazon Mexico (thanks VGC), which listed the controller as an upcoming release. While no price was offered in the listing, it did state that the controller would be available on September 21. Since Microsoft has yet to confirm the existence of the controller, this date may just be a placeholder while waiting for an official reveal to be made.

Not long after Amazon Mexico listed the controller, the post was removed. Of course, as with anything on the Internet, once put out there it lives forever. Images of the listing have been making the rounds, ramping up the excitement for the potential release.

From what folks have gathered, the controller in the listing is identical to the Elite Series 2 that was released back in 2019. Of course, the biggest difference is the color scheme. While the original release is a sleek, all-black model, this new one matches the white and black theme of the Xbox Series S.

Back in March, rumors of the white variant Elite Series 2 began when supposed photos of its packaging surfaced online. Then, earlier this year, footage of the controller itself popped up on YouTube showing off the all-white body and black grips. Add this Amazon listing and the evidence sure is piling up that the controller exists.

However, Microsoft has yet to announce a release date for the controller. In fact, the gaming company has not even acknowledged that the controller will be released. Perhaps it is saving the much-wanted variant to compete with Sony’s upcoming DualSense Edge. That, or it's just biding it's time till it sees fit.
