There are many gross-looking creatures that you'll have to deal with in Wildcat Gun Machine. While Act One is all about the undead, Act Two is all about bugs. You'll be wandering through a facility with a hive-like feel to it and plenty of enemies bussing around and trying to shoot at you.
Aside from the robot parts and extra flesh mass, these insects maintain a lot of their original appearance, just bigger. As a result, you'll remember that some bugs are ickier than others. Keep that in mind as you make your way through the swarms in order to face Sluggoth.
What Is Sluggoth?
Though preferences and perspectives differ, there are certain bugs that people tend to think as the grossest. Many of them are certainly creepy-looking, but they also have hard, smooth, shiny shells that raise their beauty. This isn't how it is with worms and slugs that are squishy and moist which boosts their ick factor.
Lucky that you are, Wildcat puts you in a place where you get to take on a behemoth of slug-kind, Sluggoth. Having both worm and slug features, this boss is huge and nasty, but not as bad as some of the other monsters you'll have to fight. It has lots of eyes, a gaping maw, and tentacles to grab at you so brace yourself.
How To Beat Sluggoth
As scary as Sluggoth may look, it's actually easier to handle than some other bosses you'll be facing in the game. The main reason is that it stays put. There's a huge hole at the center of the arena and that's where Sluggoth emerges and remains during the fight. This makes it a nice big target, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security. It will constantly attack and occasionally retreat underground making it immune to harm.
When Sluggoth does decide to dig deep, that's when you need to prepare to leg it. It'll summon some little slugs like the ones encountered in other rooms that will make a beeline (slugline, natch) for your position.
Also, this is when it'll start bursting tentacles through the floor to try and pierce you. You'll be able to see where they're going to emerge wherever the dirt starts to shift so make sure you steer clear. As it takes more damage, tentacles will start bursting and will linger on the field.
Finally, it also has the ability to shoot bullets. The good news is that it doesn't have a wide range of projectiles to use. The bad news is that it shoots a lot of them in back-and-forth streams. Luckily, it shoots from the same points on its body, so it can't surprise you with that. As long as you stay between the streams and Dash when necessary, you shouldn't run into any trouble.
To put it bluntly, Sluggoth is a huge target that you can reliably hit from anywhere around the room. Therefore, feel free to choose the pistols and secondary weapons with the most damage if you wanna end it quickly. If you've got the Flame Grenade upgrade, the burning patch it creates will make short work of Sluggoth's immobility.
