Yennefer’s Room Key Is No Longer A ‘Common Item’ In Witcher 3’s Next-Gen Update

It's been a long day, you've sailed across the strait, attended a funeral, reunited with your beloved, and now just want some time to relax and take everything in. Upon meeting Yennefer, she hands you the key to her room at the inn, and asks you to drop by after finishing some tasks. However, if you happen to rummage through your inventory, you'll notice that the Yennefer's Room Key is marked as a Common Item. What the fuck, Yennefer!?

This little detail has surprised so many players that it has become a meme. Why is Yen's room key a common item? How many people have copies? Is Dandelion involved in any way? Dear God, how many people have used the unicorn? This is why I'm on team Triss. Anyway, you won't have to worry about all that anymore, as the current-gen update will change how common the room key is.

As reported by GameSpot, Yennefer's room key will become a 'Relic' item once the update drops on December 14. "During our hands-on with the game, we noticed that the key has been changed to a "relic," the description the game uses for its rarest tier of items," writes GameSpot. "We have confirmed with CD Projekt Red that this change has been made."

The current-gen update will make a whole lot of major and minor changes to the game, among them being the locked door that can be found in The Devil's Pit in Velen. This location can be spotted just after leaving White Orchard, and since it was locked, it has been long rumoured to be part of a DLC that never happened. As part of the current-gen update, this door will now be used as part of a new quest that's inspired by the Netflix show.

This will reportedly be a "scavenger hunt-style quest" which will take around half an hour to complete, and can be completed in a number of ways. The reward for completing the quest is a crafting diagram for the "Forgotten Wolven Gear", which is a recreation of the armour that Henry Cavill wears in the Netflix show.
