Pokemon Sword & Shield: Free Galarian Corsola Available Right Now

The Pokemon Company is continuing to give away free Pokemon in the lead up to Sword and Shield’s first DLC expansion, The Isle of Armor. This week, you can claim a free Galarian Corsola with its Hidden Ability, along with a handful of hard-to-find evolutionary items.

Galarian Corsola’s Hidden Ability is Cursed Body. When the Pokemon is hit by an attack, there’s a 30% chance the move will be disabled, preventing the opposing Pokemon from using it again for four turns.

In addition to Galarian Corsola, The Pokemon Company is giving away a free bundle of evolution-inducing items. You can see the full list, along with which Pokemon they evolve, below:

  • Sweet Apple (Applin -> Appletun)
  • Tart Apple (Applin -> Flapple)
  • Chipped Pot (Sinistea -> Polteageist)
  • Cracked Pot (Sinistea -> Polteageist)
  • Sachet (Spritzee -> Aromatisse)
  • Whipped Dream (Swirlix -> Slurpuff)

To claim the freebies, select Mystery Gift from the menu screen and follow these steps:

  • Select Get a Gift
  • Select the Get via internet option
  • Follow the prompts to connect online and download the Pokemon and item bundle

Galarian Corsola will be up for grabs until 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET on June 11, when The Pokemon Company will begin giving away another free monster: Galarian Meowth. You can also get the Galar starters–Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble–with their Hidden Abilities through Pokemon Home.

Isle of Armor launches on June 17. It’s the first of two Sword and Shield DLC expansions coming this year, with The Crown Tundra following this fall. Both expansions introduce a few new Legendary Pokemon to the series, including Galarian forms of the Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. The two expansions are bundled together in the Sword and Shield Expansion Pass, which costs $30 USD.
