Fae Tactics Announced At PC Gaming Show With A Release Date Of Summer 2020

While we may not be getting a Final Fantasy Tactics re-release any time soon, it looks like Fae Tactics is here to fill that gap. Announced at the recent PC Gaming Show, this turn-based title incorporates card-based elements into a well-known RPG formula and is slated to launch in Summer 2020.

Players will take on the role of Peony in Fae Tactics, a mage who picks up a crew of friends as she explores a world teeming with magic and powerful enemies. The trailer below for the game has everything from dogs to birds, to fantastical fairy spirits. You can clearly see the influences from classic turn-based strategy games, ranging from the sprites to even the tactical UI that shows up in combat.

Fae Tactics boasts “menuless turn-based tactical gameplay” according to its page on Steam. There also seems to be an aspect of monster collection because you’ll be able to battle various Fae creatures and recruit them to join you. This isometric adventure can also be put on your Steam wishlist now if it looks like it’s up your alley.

The title is being developed by Endless Fluff Games, and will be released on both Switch and PC in Summer 2020. If you want something to sink your teeth into right now, though, we have a list of games from the Guerrilla Collective event and PC Gaming Show that are currently available.
