Mortal Kombat 11 is getting three new characters, including the highly requested classic kombatant Mileena, developer NetherRealm Studios announced Thursday. And in an unexpected move, John Rambo is also coming to MK11 as part of the game’s second Kombat Pack, with Sylvester Stallone providing the voice of the action hero.
Joining Mileena and Rambo in Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack 2 is Rain, the purple ninja named after Prince. Dominic Cianciolo, story and voice-over director at NetherRealm, says on the PlayStation Blog that “Rain now wields a katar, which he uses to slash and stab his opponents. Rain can also use his magic to open a rift to a previously unknown watery realm. Here, all of his classic moves are reimagined. His water powers are also expressed in new and unique ways.”
Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack 2 and Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, an all-in-one package including the original game, the first Kombat Pack, and the Aftermath expansion, will be released on Nov. 17.
Mortal Kombat 11 owners will be able to upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions for free. The next-gen versions of MK11 will add visual enhancements, 4K dynamic resolution, “significantly reduced” load times, and cross-platform, cross-generation play, said Cianciolo.
Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. The game’s first Kombat Pack included Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Terminator T-800, Sindel, The Joker, and Spawn. NetherRealm added three more characters to the fighting game with the Aftermath expansion in May: Sheeva, Fujin, and guest character RoboCop.
