Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl might be a High Tier crossover

When Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was announced, I was hyped to see Nicktoon favorites like Powdered Toast Man, Catdog, and April O’Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a game together. While the Smash-like fighting game is still a ways off from release, I started to think a little more about other crossovers in video games.

Crossovers can range from a unique player badge to a full-on new experience inside one of your favorite games — like Monster Hunter: World crossing over with Final Fantasy 14, which made Final Fantasy monsters, such as The Behemoth, huntable in Monster Hunter: World. And Shovel Knight is pretty much the mascot of video game crossovers, at this point. The little blue guy has shown up in fighting games, Arby’s Kids Meals, and even a couple metroidvanias. But even those aren’t top tier on the list.

So let us take a trip down memory lane to figure out where some of your favorite crossover games live, on a tier list of some of the best and worst of all time.
