Lightweight gaming mice are all the rage among the pro gamer community.
Top players want any edge they can get over their opponents in online multiplayer battles.
And if weight can give them even the slightest of edges they’ll take it.
Queue the HyperX Pulsefire Haste.
This is an expensive bit of kit for a mouse at around £90.
But if you’re a pro gamer, or a wannabe pro gamer, you’re going to want to take a look at it.
Because this is one of the best gaming mice we’ve ever tried.
We’ve been steadfastly using our fave, the Zephyr Pro, for many months now.

And that wired device delivers not only an incredibly accurate and nimble account on-screen, it is also so light in the hand.
Within minutes of taking up the 62-gram Pulsefire you get that same feel, but this one is wireless.
That might just be enough edge top gamers are looking for.
The Haste’s have 100 hours of charge in the unit, that’s a lot of gaming. And like their flagship 300-hour Cloud Alpha Wireless headphones they stand head and shoulders above many of their rivals for length of charge.
That’s a huge selling point.
As is the minuscule weight of the device.
It’s so light to hold it almost feels too light and easily breakable thanks to that honeycomb design.

Nintendo Switch Sports review: Motion controlled gaming brings family together
But rest-assured, this is a sturdy mouse and you’ll find yourself flinging it round your gaming pad in the heart of online battle without a care as it allows your lightning-fast reflexes to be just that – lightning fast.
Some of the key features of this mouse also include low-friction, pure virgin-grade PTFE skates for effortless glide movement and 2.4 GHz gaming-grade wireless technology to deliver low-latency communication with a 1ms report rate.
All that plays into improving your game.
So you know that whether it’s Call of Duty Warzone firefights or one-upmanship on Fifa football, you’ve got some of the best gear in the business on your side.
The Pulsefire also comes with six programmable buttons and onboard memory to save a custom profile through Ngenuity software, a Pixart 3335 sensor for accurate tracking and native DPI settings up to 16,000.
Of the four pre-set DPI settings, my favourite out-and-out was absolutely the most sensitive.
That cursor sped across the screen at a rate of knots with barely the flick of a hand.
Great stuff.
All in this is a high quality mouse with an incredibly lightweight design and highly sensitive touch.
It’s perfect for speedy gaming and even transfers well to the day job for office staff keen to do that bit more in a busy workday.
The price tag is high, too high no doubt for some, but it is definitely worth checking out if you can stretch that budget.
VERDICT 4.5/5
