After Valve confirmed that we would be seeing a plethora of events throughout the remainder of 2020, OGA Dota PIT have moved forward with their announcement of an EU & CIS tournament which begins later this month.
As the year continues without a Dota 2 Pro Circuit, the prevalence of regional tournaments has been keeping both teams and the community busy and for September, OGA Dota PIT have confirmed another event for the Europe and CIS regions with AMD SAPPHIRE OGA DOTA PIT EU/CIS Season 3. The tournament is set to feature a total of eight teams who will fight in a double elimination playoff bracket for a share of a $175,000 prize pool. Of these eight teams, six have been directly invited, while the final two will make their way through qualifiers.
The six directly invited teams are:
- Team Nigma
- Team Secret
- Team Liquid
- OG
- Virtus.pro Prodigy
- Alliance
Qualifiers will take place on September 20th and
21st with four teams fighting for the two remaining spots at the main
event in a double elimination qualifier playoff bracket.
- Vikin.gg
- Natus Vincere
- FlyToMoon
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
With Secret dominating any and all regional events which they have participated in this year, it will be interesting to see if any of these teams can stop them and cause a major upset. However, we will have to wait the 10 days before qualifiers kick off and the AMD SAPPHIRE OGA DOTA PIT EU/CIS Season 3 gets under way.
