Aster and Gambit advance to top 3 at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor

The StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor playoffs stage started early in the morning in the Kyiv Cybersport Arena with four teams fighting through a double elimination bracket.

Crowd favorites, Gambit Esports opened the semifinals series against the tournament underdogs BOOM Esports, who were close to deliver another upset. BOOM utilized a very mobile line-up, able catch off-guard Gambit with ease, while the CIS team focused their draft on negative armor and were hoping to end the game fast relying only on physical damage. But, although Danil “gpk” Skutin had both Blink and BkB on his Templar Assassin, Gambit played passively and were severely punished by BOOM Esports. Luckily for the CIS Dota 2 fans, Gambit were able to shake off the loss to achieve a reverse sweep with two drafts revolved around Morphling and the Chen.

Team Aster and Alliance were next to step on the stage to fight for a spot in the upper bracket finals, and the Chinese team prevailed in a very convincing manner. Song “Sccc” Chun dominated Alliance in both games of the series, in game one setting a fast tempo on a mid-lane Arc Warden, while in game two he switched to safe lane where he was able to pretty much free farm on Terrorblade.

While Aster and Gambit will return to the stage later in the evening in Kyiv, Ukraine to fight for a spot into the Minor grand finals, Alliance will take on BOOM Esports in the lower bracket in a best-of-three battle for survival.
