Chicken Fighters push for top 3 in Group B at ESL One LA Online

Open qualifiers winners Chicken Fighters, a stack that made its latest roster change on the 1st of April when Adrian “Era” Kryeziu joined in the support 5 role, is delivering the upsets in Group B at ESL One Los Angeles Online.

Today they took down 2-1 Ninjas in Pyjamas, who ironically are playing with a former  Chicken Fighters member standing in, namely Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara. The series started all well for NiP who took game one victory in a dominant fashion. They had Jason “TANNER” Weedon on Dragon Knight wreaking havoc, while Chicken Fighters’ Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha on Storm Spirit seemed to be a bit too slow with the zip-zaps, slow enough to even fail to save himself a couple of times. However, in the next game the two mid laners traded heroes, Storm being on NiP’s side, while Supreme got to play the Dragon Knight. NiP relied on the push power of a carry Nature’s Prophet and were planning on forcing their adversaries into a defensive stance from early laning stage with an Axe backed up by the deadly Shadow Demon-Mirana combo. But, in all their aggressiveness, they underestimated the saving power of oracle and ended up chain feeding the Axe in the first 10 minutes of the game. With three of the four kills on Axe going to Chicken Fighters’ Troll Warlord, the game snowballed out of control and no split push maneuvers from Furion could bring NiP back on track.

Game three featured a carry Riki from NiP, who also had vision advantage from Beastmaster. On the other side of the river, Chicken Fighters went for a tempo game with Naga Siren who itemized for early fights with Manta Style and Diffusal, while the Riki problem was solved with a core Bounty Hunter. The laning stage went definitely better than in the previous game for NiP, but once Naga was ready to join the team for objectives, the NiP heroes were picked one by one to bring another loss in the group stage for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

For now, NiP sit on two losses and one victory, which places them on the sixth slot in Group B, while with today’s victory Chicken Fighters pushed themselves on the third place in the group behind Team Secret and Natus Vincere.
