Samsung Electronics America will become the official computer memory hardware devices partner for all teams under the banner of CLG, the esports organization owned by Madison Square Garden Company.
In addition to its category partnership, Samsung will become the presenting partner of CLG’s amateur tournament initiative, now under the heading of the Samsung Open Tournament Series. The series will feature amateur esports tournaments broadcast on the CLG Twitch channel, and will kick off with an open League of Legends tournament on April 24. Fans will be able to vote on future games to be featured in the series.
Finally, Samsung will provide its computer memory hardware products to be used in the CLG Performance Center.
CLG is one of several esports organizations which have ramped up their activity in the amateur/grassroots esports space. These programs provide new products around which brands can activate, and allow organizations to position themselves more within a broader gaming community rather than simply representing a game at the professional level.
