CoD: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season One Delayed

Season One for Black Ops Cold War & Warzone has been delayed until December 16.

Since launch, players have been excited for the beginning of the largest post-launch content drop in Call of Duty history and for BOCW and Warzone to integrate into Season One. Originally scheduled for December 10, players had around a month to get to max rank ready for the new season. However, today it has been announced that Season One has been delayed, and instead will release on December 16.

While the Season One content and Warzone integration has been delayed until Dec. 16, we will be receiving a Black Ops Cold War update on December 8. This update will bring QOL improvements and prepare players for the new content. Following this, Treyarch will continue to reveal new information about Season One in the week leading up to its launch (December 7-16). On Dec. 15, Black Ops Cold War will receive the Season One update, before Warzone integration is introduced on Dec. 16 along with the launch of the Season One content, allowing you to have it installed and ready to play.

Season One Content

We heard the rumors, and today it’s been confirmed. Raid will be returning to Call of Duty in Season One for Black Ops Cold War. Treyarch has described it as a “legendary battle through a sprawling luxury complex within the Hollywood hills” and players are more excited than ever to see a previous map return.

Along with Raid, there will be more 6v6 maps, Gunfight will return with four maps of its own and Fireteam will also receive a new map. To make up for the delay, Treyarch will be activating Double XP and Double Weapon XP from December 12 until the Season One launch. Players who play Cold War during this time will also receive two free bundles including skins and weapon blueprints.

While fans will inevitably be disappointed with the delay of Season One, we now know that the content will launch in the best possible state. The confirmation of Raid returning will also put a smile on some players’ faces, especially fans of the competitive scene as we may see it return in the CDL this year.
