The Atlanta FaZe are one of a few teams to officially solidify their roster for the 2021 Call of Duty League. After dropping both Preston “Priestahh” Greiner and Mike “MajorManiak” Szymaniak last week, the organization then signed Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson. One-half of the Sanderson twins, Arcitys is widely considered to be one of the best players and teammates in the CDL. Moreover, he already possesses chemistry with the other FaZe players from the Black Ops 4 season. Do all of these factors make Atlanta FaZe the best current roster in the Call of Duty League?
FaZe poised to be among the best again
During the inaugural season of the CDL, Atlanta was considered a top-two team all season long. While they did falter at a couple of events, the team was never lower than three or four on most power rankings. However, that was with a 5v5 roster during a game that most players didn’t enjoy whatsoever.
So what happens now that the CDL has reverted back to 4v4 play and FaZe houses a new roster? Well, we would, of course, need to see the team play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War before definitively saying anything. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate on what we see on paper.
With Arcitys now on the roster, Atlanta has only added to its firepower from last season. With Chris “Simp” Lehr and Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris maining the SMGs, Arcitys will run Main AR. This allows McArthur “Cellium” Jovel to run Flex with an emphasis on an AR.
At this moment, there’s not really another CDL team that can match that roster. Arcitys is among the best ARs in the game and Simp and aBeZy make for arguably the best SMG duo. To go along with all of that, Cellium was an MVP candidate during the 2020 season.
While teams like Dallas, Chicago, and Minnesota do look terrific on paper, it would be shocking to see anyone come out of the gate stronger than FaZe. Of course, we’ll have to wait until later on in 2020 to see how paper matches up with gameplay.
