The Esports Entertainment Group and the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers have come together in announcing a multi-year partnership that sees EEG become the team’s esports tournament platform provider. As part of the multi-year deal, EEG will facilitate three co-branded tournaments annually for the Cavaliers utilizing its Esports Gaming League platform. Financial details of the partnership were not released.
Additionally, Esports Entertainment Group will receive courtside LED signage at all Cavaliers regular season home games during the upcoming 2021-2022 season and will be added as the presenting partner of an annual esports themed night.
On the social media front, Esports Entertainment Group will leverage Cleveland’s ongoing digital marketing efforts spanning across all social, email, mobile, and online channels to promote the esports events. The partnership has been expanded to also includes Cavs Legion GC, the team’s NBA 2K League entrant, with brand placement on player’s physical game day jerseys game as well as virtual in-game jerseys.
