Evil Geniuses are the North America champions at ESL One Los Angeles Online

Going 5-2 overall on the last day of the NA division of the ESL One Los Angeles Online Evil Geniuses not only avoided the proverbial third place finish by taking down CR4AZY in the lower bracket finals but actually claimed the Championship title for their region and took revenge over the only team that defeated them in the group stage, Quincy Crew, formerly knowns as Chaos Esports.

EG opened the grand finals with another Terrorblade game for Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and a core Dazzle for Sam “BuLba” Sosale in the offlane which proved to be the perfect counter for Quincy Crew’s Legion Commander and Riki. EG took an early lead, finding relatively easy kills on the opposing support Nature’s Prophet and a couple of successful ganks in the mid lane to allow RTZ to grow into an unlikable TB. He closed the game in a personal 9/0/6 K/D/A and with almost double the networth of Yawar “YawaR” Hassan’s Riki.

Heading into the second game, EG kept the momentum rolling with a lethal Mirana-Snapire support duo that put Quincy Crew in disadvantage right from the laning stage. Although Quinn “CCnC” Callahan had a pretty good start and dodged the early deaths with his Ember Spirit, the five kills in the first 13 minutes of the game on Arif “MSS” Anwar’s Legion commander shut down Quincy Crew’s early and mid-game stage and made it impossible for them to build a comeback.

Down two games in the best-0f-five series, Quincy Crew bounced back in game three courtesy of a strong showing on Void Spirit from CCnC who crushed Eric “Ryoya” Dong’s Invoker mid and took full control to keep the hope alive for his team at the end of a 20-minute game.

The fourth game brought a support Weaver from Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen and while the first 10 minutes were action packed with 14 kills being traded between the two teams, Arteezy had free farm on Ursa and was able to dismantle Quincy Crew with his Abyssal-BKB-MKB-Satanic item build.

With Evil Geniuses claiming the NA crown of ESL One Los Angeles Online and with Fnatic taking the spoils in Southeast Asia, two of the five regions have completed their competition. South America will decide its winners later today, China has the grand finals scheduled for Sunday, April 5 while the combined Europe and CIS competition is starting the group stage matches on the 4th of April.
