ESL One Thailand: Online 2020 Americas division is set to commence next month, on the 8th of August, with a total of eight teams from South and North America fighting for supremacy and a share of the $65,000 prize pool.
Six of the participants will enter the competition via a direct invite ticket from the organizers and will be joined into the main event by two more squads coming from regional qualifiers. While the qualifier process is bound to begin next week, starting with an open brawl on the 28th of July, and continuing with the closed brackets scheduled for July 31- Agust 2, ESL One has made public this list of directly invited teams:

- Thunder Predator
- beastcoast
The NA powerhouse organization, Evil Geniuses are the most notable absence from the list. The best explanation would be that the Americas division of ESL One Thailand overlaps for the most part with the Europe and CIS leg of OMEGA League, where Evil Geniuses have already been confirmed to participate.
ESL One Thailand Americas division is set to unfold August 8-30 while the OMEGA League will feature EG in the EU and CIS competition from August 10 to September 5.

To be eligible for the Americas division open qualifiers the teams must have at least 3 members with residence in one of the following countries: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Greenland, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela.
