FaZe Clan’s ‘Rug’ to Star in First Feature-Length Film With Plotkin Attached to Direct

Content creator and gaming personality Brian “Rug” Awadis, a member of FaZe Clan, is set to star in his first ever feature film. The 23-year-old long-time member of FaZe Clan, will kick off a series of films starring FaZe Clan talent that will become a part of the cinematic universe as part of a collaborative creative partnership between FaZe Clan and Invisible Narratives, founded by Adam Goodman and Andrew Sugerman.

This will be the third directorial outing for Gregory Plotkin of “Paranormal Activity” fame. Simon Boyles is writing the script. Boyles, who co-wrote the upcoming pandemic thriller “Songbird,” will make his return with Invisible Narratives after working with the company on a previous project. Adam Goodman and Andrew Sugerman will produce for Invisible Narratives along with Lee Trink and Nikhil Jayaram of FaZe Clan.

“It’s his time and it’s our time,” FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink said. “This is the moment where YouTube and Hollywood finally collide. Not only do we have an incredible team and thoughtful concept to take the leap from the smallest screen to the largest screen, FaZe Rug is also the perfect lead actor to kick it off.”

Awadis is FaZe Clan’s most followed content creator with more than 16M YouTube subscribers with another 11M followers on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram combined.

Awadis said, “This is a dream come true for me. The idea to blend the world of YouTube content into traditional films is a creative adventure that I’m so proud to be a part of.”

This announcement follows the recently launched FaZe Studios, a separate endeavor between Sugar23 and FaZe Clan that looks to combine their expertise in creating original, premium entertainment to connect with youth culture in the digital space.
