According to the release, the Street Fighter V competition will feature 15 top pros and an additional UK player, who will qualify through Red Bull’s last chance qualifier on May 2nd. The names of the participants have yet to be revealed.

Moreover, the Red Bull Gaming Sphere has been adapted to ‘match the spirit of the Red Bull Kumite legacy’.

Alongside announcing the event, Red Bull has revealed that audio peripherals manufacturer ASTRO Gaming and gaming monitor brand AOC will be sponsors of Red Bull Kumite London. ASTRO has been named the event’s peripheral partner, whereas AOC will be Red Bull Kumite’s monitor partner.

After being held in France from 2015 to 2018, the energy drinks brand moved its event to Japan in 2019. However, following a hiatus, Red Bull Kumite has arrived back in Europe to present its offline Street Fighter V tournament.

Guilty Gear Strive is scheduled to be released in June 2021. To celebrate the release, Red Bull Kumite will feature interviews with game developer Arc System Works. In addition, competitions starring FGC professionals will also be incorporated during the title’s showcase.

Esports Insider says: FGC fans will be ecstatic to see Red Bull Kumite come back, especially as a LAN event. Alongside its Street Fighter V tournament, the event also looks to highlight a potential future esports title in Guilty Gear Strive. Having the event in London also makes a lot of sense given that the energy drinks brand already has the Red Bull Gaming Sphere, which is an ideal venue for the occasion.
