Fnatic take the lead in the SEA DPC League with another IO carry

Southeast Asia’s Dota Pro Circuit League Season One continued today as the second week of action kicked off with Fnatic and Execration closing out the day.

After TNC Predator made swift work of Vice Esports, claiming their first win in the SEA DPC League, it was all eyes on Fnatic to see if they could claim the top spot in the standings. Having beaten T1 on first day of proceedings, Fnatic were set for a great start to 2021, forgetting the rough patch of last year. However, their opponent today would be the team that took down TNC in their first series, Execration, a fantastic lineup of players from veterans to young talent.

Going into the series, although XtcN found a scattering of kills in the early period, especially on Kam “Moon” Boon Seng’s middle lane Death Prophet, they were not ever in the lead. As more and more teamfights occurred, XctN found themselves constantly falling behind, thanks mostly to the Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong Phoenix, which ended at 3-6-26, as Fnatic took a 1-0 lead. While game two saw a few more signs of life from XctN, we got to witness the Marc Polo “Raven” Luis Fausto carry IO once again – something which dominated last week’s series for FNC.

Once they had their footing, FNC were unstoppable, crashing through their opponent’s lineup with ease and claiming a solid 2-0 victory. With that, Fnatic take a well-deserved spot at the top of the SEA DPC League standings, beating out Neon Esports for the time being – as they have yet to drop a single game. For both XctN and FNC, they will have a break from games until February 3rd – with BOOM Esports awaiting FNC and Vice Esports to be XctN’s next challenger.
