Global media company Team Whistle has signed former Luminosity Gaming pro player Griffin “Sceptic” Spikoski as its official esports ambassador. Team Whistle is also launching its Twitch channel that will feature Sceptic playing Fortnite or Call of Duty every Monday. The announcement comes a few months after Sceptic revealed that he’s a free agent.
The sports and entertainment company Team Whistle is looking to broaden its horizons towards the esports community. Comprising of Whistle, New Form, Tiny Horse, and Vertical Networks, Team Whistle looks to distribute engaging content experiences for its new audience.
Signing Fortnite pro player Sceptic is a bold move, as he has over 1.46 million YouTube subscribers and a large social media following. The 16-year old player has a history of making headlines, especially during his time with Misfits Gaming and Luminosity Gaming.
Streaming the Gen Z audience and more
Along with joining Team Whistle, Sceptic will star in several projects throughout the year. These include a new weekly Twitch stream, new bi-weekly YouTube series, weekly Snapchat Discover show, and merchandise store. Additionally, Sceptic will offer Whistle’s audience the exclusive opportunity to play with or against him during his stream.
Josh Millan, Director of Content Partnerships and Talent at Whistle shared his thoughts regarding the new partnership. “Sceptic is a young, talented creator determined to grow his brand and Team Whistle is excited to have him join our team and work in collaboration to push the boundaries in esports.” Additionally, he shared that Sceptic’s journey resonates with the Gen Z audience who “crave relatable and uplifting stories like his.”
“Partnering with Team Whistle gives me the opportunity to grow my fanbase and find new ways to engage with them,” said Sceptic, “I’m excited to share my gaming experience, background and knowledge with people my age and encourage them to know that with hard work and dedication they can do anything they set their minds to.”
As for Sceptic’s streaming schedule, fans can watch him stream for three hours every Monday. He will play from 4 PM through 7 PM ET on the Whistle Twitch channel.
