This is the first foray into esports by GP Batteries in what appears to be a substantial partnership with GODSENT. Founded in 1964, GP Batteries is based in Hong Kong.
According to a release, the partnership will affect all aspects of GODSENT, from the academy teams to coaching and full-time professional rosters in a number of games. Financial details surrounding the agreement were not revealed.
Henrik Denebrandt, CEO of GODSENT, commented: “We are very proud to partner up with GP over the next years as our sidekick. Our gaming and bootcamp center in Sweden is an important part of our core business, hosting some of the best teams in the world on a regular basis. Working closely with GP will give us more opportunities to also invest into grassroots in gaming.”
GODSENT was formed by former Fnatic CS:GO player and in-game leader Markus “pronax” Wallsten and entrepreneur Tomas Oropesa Martin. The organisation was founded in 2016, and now fields teams in PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, CS:GO, Wild Rift, Call of Duty, and other games. The organisation also fields women rosters in CS:GO and PUBG Mobile, as well as a number of content creators.

As a partner, we really think that we can be a contributing part in making esport a sport for everyone.”
Esports Insider says: GODSENT has an interesting history as an organisation, and has been growing steadily in recent years. By the looks of it, the GP Batteries partnership looks to be a lucrative one for both parties, and will help the Swedish organisation grow faster than before.
