Guild Esports partners with PlayStation for FIFA22 tournament – Esports Insider

British esports organisation Guild Esports has partnered with PlayStation to create the ‘Guild Academy Challenge’, a new FIFA22 tournament set to commence today (December 13th).

Guild Esports announced that the tournament will be open to all European FIFA22 players who play on PlayStation 4 and have access to the PlayStation online gaming network.

The tournament will take place from December 13th – 15th and participants will also gain online access to the Guild Academy for six months. The winner will be given the opportunity to win a PlayStation 5, meet Guild Esports’ players and receive ‘professional online training sessions’.

Guild Esports partnered with food brand Subway earlier this year on a similar FIFA22 tournament open to any interested players.

The Guild Academy launched with Rocket League and Fortnite support, however, the initiative added FIFA to its services earlier this year.

Kal Hourd, Chief Executive of Guild Esports, added: “We are delighted to be chosen by PlayStation to create a new tournament which builds on the success of previous years’ FIFA tournaments which attract thousands of entries each year.

“By connecting Guild with PlayStation, we expect to attract a significant number of students to our Guild Academy to support their growth and development.”

Esports Insider says: Guild Esports partnering up with PlayStation is a good idea, especially when the base of the partnership is a FIFA22 tournament. It also seems like Guild Esports will use the tournament to bolster its Guild Academy programme, with the event certainly providing numbers to its initiative.
