Invictus Gaming will be the fourth direct invite to ESL One Birmingham 2020

ESL One Birmingham 2020 continues to grow with amazing teams
as the fourth team to join in at the event in late May has been confirmed as
Invictus Gaming.

In the past week we have had three massive teams added into
the mix at the third iteration of ESL One Birmingham: OG, TNC Predator and Evil
Geniuses. While the event is still some time away, it is shaping up to be one of
the best non-Dota 2 Pro Circuit tournaments, considering the teams obtaining
direct invites. Earlier today ESL confirmed the next team to claim one of these
invites as being the Chinese squad of Invictus Gaming.

Having finished 2nd in the regional qualifiers
for the previous iteration of ESL One Birmingham last year, iG will finally get
their shot at competing for the title later this year. Once a feared name on
the Dota 2 battlefield, iG have not been at their best for some time – until the
start of the current DPC season. After winning the first Minor this season,
DOTA Summit 11, the Chinese squad proceeded to finish in third place at MDL
Chengdu. Following this the team would take an admirable fifth/sixth place at
DreamLeague Season 13 and managed to easily qualify for ESL One Los Angeles too.

ESL One Birmingham 2020 will take place from March 26th
through to 31st and will feature a total of 12 teams competing for a
prize pool of $300,000. Eight of these teams will receive a direct invite, of
which four have been confirmed so far, while the final four will come through
regional qualifiers for: North America, Southeast Asia, Europe and China.

More information on the tournament’s schedule and tickets can be found over on the ESL One website here. We will keep you up-to-date on any and all announcements that come out from ESL about the event, including the dates, times and teams taking part in each region’s qualifier.
