Overwatch’s 17th Damage Hero
Echo is a Damage Hero, which may come as a shock to those who speculated she would be a Healer. Echo is Overwatch‘s 17th Damage Hero and has a very unique set of abilities, including an Ultimate that lets her temporarily become someone else.
Echo’s abilities
Duplicate
Duplicate is Echo’s Ultimate Ability and it transforms her into an enemy hero of her choice for a short period of time. During this time, she gains ultimate charge for the hero she is duplicating very quickly and can use that hero’s ultimate if she charges it before the timer ends.
Tri-Shot
This is Echo’s primary fire. She fires three relatively slow-moving projectiles that spread out further as they travel. These projectiles can headshot for critical hits. Another projectile hero is a welcome addition to Overwatch.
Sticky Bombs
Echo’s alternate fire shoots a set of bombs that do damage on contact and blow up after a delay to do more damage. These bombs are also projectiles; however, they cannot critically hit.
Flight
This ability projects Echo forward and then allows her to fly for a short time. This move gives her a lot of vertical mobility and allows her to reach places other heroes may not be able to. Echo can use other abilities while flying.
Focusing Beam
Echo’s second ability fires a short-range beam that deals bonus damage to enemies under half health. This is a unique ability for Overwatch, which doesn’t have any execute abilities like this.
Glide
Holding the jump button allows Echo to glide through the air, similar to Mercy. This ability works well with her Flight ability because it allows her to stay in the air longer.
If you haven’t yet, be sure to download the PTR and check out Overwatch‘s newest hero for yourself!
