Philadelphia Fusion win two nail-biters in OWL Week 10

The Philadelphia Fusion have been one of the best teams in the 2020 OWL season. Their star damage player, Jae-hyeok “Carpe” Lee, became the first player ever to reach 600 solo kills in the OWL this weekend. Despite this, things weren’t looking so good for them on Saturday when they fell two maps behind to the Paris Eternal. They were able to pull off the reverse sweep in a close fashion, winning each map by one point only.

Their second match of the weekend against the Atlanta Reign went almost the opposite. They were up 2-0 when Atlanta came back to win the next two maps. They were able to win the nail-biter on Ilios 2-1 and take the match.

These wins show that Philly is great in the face of adversity and doesn’t crack under the pressure. While they certainly have some kinks to work out in their team play, they are looking like one of the most fearsome teams in the OWL.

      Houston Outlaws also take two

The Houston Outlaws had an abysmal start to the season, but they have turned things around nicely in recent weeks. They won both of their games in Week 10 and now sit at 4-6. Their wins weren’t entirely unexpected, however, as they played against a crippled Boston Uprising team and the Toronto Defiant who have struggled to find their footing.

The Outlaws will take wins where they can get them, though. Their roster doesn’t look bad on paper, with players like João Pedro “Hydration” Goes Telles and Tae-hong “MekO” Kim. If they can string together some wins and keep improving their chemistry, they could still make a run in the 2020 Overwatch League season.

      Shanghai and San Francisco sweep

The Shanghai Dragons and the San Francisco Shock both only had one match over the weekend, but both teams swept their opponents convincingly. The Dragons swept the Guangzhou Charge, and the Shock swept the Los Angeles Gladiators. The sweep over the Gladiators comes after the Gladiators beat them in their last meeting.

The 2020 Overwatch League season is well underway now, but the standings are still close and anything could happen. Stay tuned to Daily Esports for all Overwatch news.
