Pangea Cup Partners with Subnation on Indie Video Game Development Competition

The organizers of the Pangea Cup have partnered with Subnation, the Los Angeles-based media and marketing company covering gaming and esports lifestyle, to launch a global indie video game development competition. The Pangea Cup’s aim is to focus on the discovery, cultivation, publishing and distribution of the next generation of indie video games. Subnation’s role as a partner in the property will see the Los Angeles based company serve as the production company and provide marketing services for the series and competition.

As part of the thought process behind Pangea Cup, its organizers recognized the opportunity “to curate talented up-and-coming game developers who lacked a clear path to successfully bring their unique games to market.” Sports agent David Falk, who counted Michael Jordan as a client, will serve as president alongside co-founders Karl Flores (Unikrn) and Nir Ben Lavi, who will serve as co-CEOs. Dr. Ilan Hadar will act as COO and managing partner; Olympian and sports entrepreneur Garrett Klugh will be managing partner; Amber Allen, video game industry thought leader and founder of Double A Labs, and TSA Group CEO Marcus Luer will be partners.

Organizers haven not released all of the details to date, but have said more information is coming.Updates will include a call for indie developer submissions, which after a selection process, will see participating developers work with industry mentors in a competitive setting to find the winning team and game title.
