North American Overwatch Contenders team, Skyfoxes, bolstered their front lines after adding Byung-ho “Panker” Lee to their roster following the release of Michael “Mikeyy” Konicki. The main-tank is a seasoned veteran of the game and should help the tremendously Skyfoxes going forward.
Before the beginning of the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, Panker played for Kongdoo Uncia, a South Korean team participating in Overwatch APEX- the premier competitive Overwatch scene. Kongdoo Uncia finished in 3-4th place for Season 1 but were never able to reach higher than that for Seasons 2-4. After the 2018 season of the Overwatch League, Panker was signed to a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Gladiators for the 2019 season, but spent the season playing with Gladiators Legion, LA’s Contenders team. His most recent stint was with Noble before joining the Skyfoxes.
The Skyfoxes have had a decent start to Overwatch Contenders 2020 Season 1: North America but haven’t been able to get past the quarterfinals throughout the first two weeks of the tournaments. Adding a veteran player who has a lot of experience under his belt like Panker, should help the Skyfoxes get over that hump and hopefully compete with the top teams in North America Contenders moving forward.
