OMEGA League: EU Immortal Division continued today with more group
stage action as Team Secret, Alliance and Ninjas is Pyjkamas were just some of
the teams in action today. Alliance were first up, taking on the fairly new squad
of 5men in a best-of three series. While Alliance seemed like one of the best
teams in the event, and took the first game of matchup, 5men proven that they
were a force to be reckoned with as they completed a reverse sweep over their
opponent. This put Alliance close to the bottom of Group A, with 5men moving up
to third place, with their final group stage series coming today against
Virtus.pro.
Team Secret had been dominant in every single event that they had
entered in recent times, winning six in succession without any real challenges
along the way. Today they would be placed against Vikin.gg, with both teams
searching for the spot at the top of the group as they faced one another.
Unfortunately for Viking.gg, they were given no hope by Secret over two games –
dropping both without reaching double digits on the scoreline. With the win,
Secret take the top spot in Group B, joined with OG, who they will face on August
28th.
Closing out the day at OMEGA League: EU Immortal Division would be
Ninjas in Pyjamas and FlyToMoon. NiP were struggling through the group stages,
and FtM were not about to make it any easier for the squad. Registering their
first win in the event, FtM were able to quelle quite a great onslaught from
NiP over two games and secure the series 2-0. Unfortunately for NiP, they would
now sit at 0-4 in their opening group stage series at the event, with the likelihood
of another defeat being high.
Tomorrow the OMEGA League: EU Immortal Division gets back into
action with VP versus 5men kicking things off, before Liquid would need to
defend against NiP and Na’Vi versus Evil Geniuses closing the day out.
