Minneapolis-based esports content and experience company Wisdom Gaming Group announced that it has secured a $3M USD Series A financing round led by the local venture capital fund Excelsior Ventures Fund. The company plans to use the investment proceeds to accelerate the growth of its esports marketing platform, digital content, and gaming media network portfolio.
Throughout the last twelve months, Wisdom Gaming built a portfolio of esports assets. Earlier this year, it acquired the Minneapolis-based esports organization Alpine Esports, which competes in the North American Rocket League Championship Series, and the Rocket League-centered community content and tournament brand Gold Rush. In 2019, Wisdom Gaming acquired HeroesHearth, a social network for fans of Heroes of the Storm.
Furthermore, Wisdom created several additional esports brands such as Teamfight Tactics programming and tournament organization the TeamFight Talk Show, the Giant Slayer Series, and the TFT Fight Night Rising, as well as the VALORANT and Legends of Runeterra Fight Nights.
