8 Hidden Plotlines Everyone Missed In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

With the multiple concurrent narratives in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, there will no doubt be secrets and stories left uncovered by the majority of players. The new Legendary Pokemon are hidden behind a secret search for the strange Ominous Stakes, while the lore and local histories of the Paldea region and its cities are scattered across the school library’s books and on the locals’ lips.

Beyond this, most will be surprised to know that not only can classes be taken at the Academy, but the Academy’s teachers can all be befriended too. Each has their own storyline and with rare rewards and fun hi-jinks.

8/8 The Way Home

Unlike any other mainline Pokemon game, beating the Elite Four and the Champion is not the end of the main storyline. The culmination of the main story can only be accessed after all three stories have been finished, and you have befriended Nemona, Penny, and Arven.

Once you have your squad of buddies assembled, you’ll be drawn into the Area Zero Lab located in the Great Crater of Paldea. Inside you’ll learn the truth about your Miraidon or Koraidon, battle the mysterious Paradox Pokemon and enjoy some exciting sci-fi twists and turns along the way.

7/8 Dendra’s Self-Discovery

Unless you diligently studied in the classroom before setting out on your adventures, you’ll first meet the Battle Studies teacher, Dendra, in Alfornada coaching the ESP training. In the classroom, she’ll explain the game’s new battle mechanics and outside, she’ll practice her culinary skills.

The stakes are low, a bad cook wants to be a better one, but if you were hoping to see more of the peppy Dendra, then you’re in luck. Otherwise, you may be interested in the ten Proteins she’ll dole out after completing her storyline.

6/8 A Pawmi Pal

The exuberant Languages teacher, Salvatore can only be found at the Academy. His story and the reward for completing it shouldn’t be skipped. Once you’ve studied languages both human and Pokemon, you’ll find Salvatore in the schoolyard with a hurt Pawmi.

The poor Pokemon needs a Potion and has lost its voice. Thankfully, a little tender, loving care is all it needs, and once you’ve passed your Languages final, you can meet Salvatore in the staff room for a sweet scene and an exclusive Galarian Meowth gift.

5/8 The School Nurse’s Schooling

Miriam, the school’s nurse, feels unfulfilled by spending her time watching over the students in the sick bay, who are only there to get out of class. If the player occasionally visits for a chat, she’ll tell of her failure to pass her teaching exams.

Unlike the other teachers, she has no classes for you to take, so instead, you chat and provide support. As your friendship grows, she’ll be inspired to study for the exams again and if you see the storyline through, you’ll nab the sweet gift of ten Max Revives too.

4/8 Raifort And The Treasures Of Ruin

During your Paldean travels, you may have come across the glowing, Ominous Stakes scattered throughout the land. When you do, you had best pull them out and visit the history teacher, Raifort, to find out what they are.

She’ll teach you about the Paldean Empire and Area Zero, while on the side you can learn of the shrine-locked legendaries. One for each quadrant of the map, with eight stakes each. If you manage to catch all four then bring them to the professor to put a bow on her story and acquire the Nasty Plot TM.

3/8 Cooking With Saguaro

Each of the classes aims to teach players about a gameplay element, and for Home Economics it’s picnics. As you progress through the classes you’ll get the chance to know your teacher better and learn his concerns about how he presents himself to his students.

To finish Saguaro’s storyline you’ll need to have completed the main story and win a Sweet Herba Mystica from a five or six-star Tera Raid. As a gift for the thoughts and flavors you bring him, you’ll receive a cute Slowpoke Cup to use on your picnics.

2/8 Hassel’s Home Life

The story of the art teacher and Dragon-type Elite Four member may be the most dramatic. There’s rebellion, a sickly patriarch, and a tearful teacher. When Hassel isn’t describing the Million Volt Skyline as “a very, ahem, ‘fleek selfie spot’”, he is dealing with family drama.

As Hassel grows to trust you, you’ll learn a couple of the juicy details of his family history. The final reward is a useful fifty Dragon Tera Shards, And the story also features a little backstory for the artist and Gym Leader, Brassius, and an appearance by Hassel’s Pokemon, Professor Gible.

1/8 Ace Academy Tournament

The fifth major storyline and the post-game finale is a hard-earned one. After managing the feat of completing four storylines– Starfall Street, Path of Legends, Victory Road, and The Way Home– You’ll have to beat the eight Gym Leaders for a second time.

After this, you can enter the Ace Academy Tournament and prove your skills once and for all. The tournament’s Pokemon reach up to level seventy, so it’s no small feat. The tournament can be undertaken endlessly with some of the game’s rarest items at stake.
