Activision has two reboots out this year – Tony Hawk and Crash Bandicoot?

The publisher of Call Of Duty has two secret new games due this year, both based on existing franchises.

Not only has Activision confirmed that Call Of Duty 2020 is still on course for release this year but it also has two other secret projects based on existing IP.

‘Our planned slate includes a new Call Of Duty premium title, two releases based on our extensive library of IP from Activision, and Blizzard’s Shadowlands expansion for World of Warcraft,’ he told investors, following the company’s latest financial results.

This is all planned to happen in the ‘second half of the year’ and there do seem two very obvious guesses as to what they could be, with the first being a new Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding.

News of a new Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding has been leaked multiple times before, including just yesterday, and given how long the rumours have been going on is, presumably, now close to being finished.

The other guess is a new Crash Bandicoot, which has been rumoured for years – ever since the remasters of the original games became such a hit.

It even seemed as if Sony was helping to tease a new game at the end of last year, but nothing ever came of that. Although a more recent report suggests there are in fact two new Crash Bandicoot games currently in development.

Activision doesn’t exactly have the widest portfolio, at least in terms of modern games, but other possibilities would include Spyro The Dragon and another attempt to revive Guitar Hero.

Tony Hawk and Crash Bandicoot do seem the obvious choices though and it’s even possible we might see one or both of them at Microsoft’s Xbox 20/20 third party reveal event on Thursday.
