Barely over a week since the last leak, more Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 details have been found in Warzone Mobile’s private alpha.
Remember last week when someone datamined the private alpha for Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile and leaked maps for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Well, the same thing has happened again.
With knowledge of the maps already out in the wilderness, this second datamine managed to uncover more details related to Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer; specifically, a list of gameplay modes, perks, field upgrades, and killstreaks.
It’s worth stressing that there’s no guarantee these will appear in the final game and most of these are returning from previous games, although fans have quickly taken note of the new additions.
For example, while the majority of multiplayer modes are ones Call Of Duty players will recognise (e.g., Gunfight, Infected, Domination, etc.,) there are a couple new names: Knockout and Ground War Bomb.
The lists for field upgrades and killstreaks appear to have no new additions. However, the datamine claims to have uncovered four new perks: Overwatch, Overcharge, Survivor, and Pitcher.
There are no details to explain what the new additions are, but there is cause to believe the datamine is accurate.
For starters, it comes from Twitter user Reality, who previously leaked the Modern Warfare 2 maps, as well as concept art for the next Call Of Duty: Black Ops game.
Secondly, several of Reality’s tweets detailing the datamined info have been hit with copyright takedowns from Activision. It didn’t nuke Reality’s account like last time (at least at the time of writing), but this does prove that at least some of this info isn’t made up.
We can’t imagine Activision will allow Reality to continue accessing the Warzone Mobile alpha, although we’re surprised it didn’t do that already after last week’s leak.
In case more of Reality’s tweets are deleted or their account is taken down again, the full list of datamined info has been compiled on ResetEra.
The next question is how much of this datamined content will be in the final game at launch. It’s entirely possible Activision intends on including everything listed but will only add it over the course of Modern Warfare 2’s lifecycle.
After all, previous entries like Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War continued to receive new gameplay modes and other content after it released, and Call Of Duty: Vanguard recently received a new Zombies mode.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
