Ahsoka Trailer Teases Star Wars Rebels Characters Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla

The upcoming series Ahsoka will apparently be featuring a few beloved characters from Star Wars Rebels including Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and Hera Syndulla. The news comes from a trailer that was privately screened at the recently held Star Wars Celebration. Since the footage was only made available to the press, fans of the franchise will have to wait until the producer, Disney, makes the footage available to the public. Ahsoka is currently scheduled to be released in 2023.

The trailer begins with Ahsoka standing on the bridge of the Ghost. Ahsoka is then joined by a character seen from behind which seems to be Hera Syndulla. The trailer then shows what appears to be the closing scene from Star Wars Rebels before ending with a shot of Sabine Wren looking at a mural featuring a picture of Ezra Bridger.

As predicted by speculators, the trailer confirms that Natasha Liu Bordizzo is going to be taking on the role of Sabine Wren. The actor was in fact present at the event. “So much I could say," Bordizzo remarked. "I feel like I’ve just been adopted into a new family. I feel that way about everyone I work with, but also the fans. It’s just the most welcoming, creative… I mean, I never experienced anything like this. Set is going really well.”

"I know how much Sabine means to many people in this room and I know how much she means to Dave and I think you guys are going to be really excited about the journey she’s about to have,” Bordizzo said in reference to Director Dave Filoni.

Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, and Hera Syndulla were first presented to fans of the franchise shortly after Star Wars Rebels launched on October 3, 2014. The last episode was released on March 5, 2018. While the series was well received by viewers and critics alike, Star Wars Rebels only ran for a total of four seasons. The story will however be continued when Ahsoka releases later next year.

Several other big stories came out of the Star Wars Celebration. These include a release date for the upcoming Andor, the reveal of Skeletons, and confirmation that a third season of The Mandalorian is in the works. Director Jon Favreau also let slip that a fourth season of the The Mandalorian is in production.
