Batman and Suicide Squad website domains hint at new game names

Warner Bros. appears to have registered new domains for the much rumoured new Batman and Suicide Squad games.

After months and years of near silence, Warner Bros. and DC only recently confirmed that ‘new announcements’ from WB Games will be happening in August.

They didn’t clarify what those announcements could be but it’s safe to assume that it will at least involve the long-rumoured Batman game.

Some new discoveries from over the weekend, though, could point to another announcement as well, this one related to Suicide Squad.

Spotted by and shared on ResetEra, three website domains were registered this month.

The first is for a website called gothamknights.com. This seems to suggest that Gotham Knights is the name of the new Batman game, but it doesn’t confirm anything else beyond that – except maybe there being multiple playable characters, which would match up with previous rumours.

The other two are for suicidesquadgame.com and suicidesquadkillthejusticeleague.com, which do seem to unambiguously point towards a Suicide Squad game.

Both of these domains were registered by MarkMonitor, Inc., which is the same domain broker Warner Bros. has used for some of its other websites.

There was supposedly a Suicide Squad game in development some time ago, that was cancelled, but it’s since been widely rumoured that Arkham Asylum creators Rocksteady is working on a multiplayer game themed around the Suicide Squad – a group of supervillains forced to work for the US government.

Warner Bros. Montréal, who made Arkham Origins, is believed to be the one working on the new Batman game, and that seemed to be confirmed when they started tweeting out references to elements from Batman lore.

But there’s also the fact that last week NetherRealm was caught trying to hire people to work on a new Injustice game. That suggests three new DC related games could be imminent, after years without any new titles.

People have been expecting announcements from Warner Bros. for a while now, and it was even believed that a new Batman game , and a Harry Potter role-playing title, would have been announced at E3 this year.

Although these new domains aren’t exactly hard confirmations, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these supposed games revealed in August.
