Call of Duty Cold War arrives this week and gamers will notice a few changes in COD Warzone. The good news is that we won’t be seeing a sudden flood of new weapons in Verdansk, which would no doubt play havoc with the current meta. It’s up to you to decide whether such an event would be good for the game but it appears this won’t be happening on the Black Ops Cold War release day.

An earlier message from Activision suggested that November 13 would see a number of changes in Call of Duty Warzone.

However, since this announcement was made, it has now been confirmed that integration between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone on that scale, won’t begin until next month.

However, while we won’t be seeing a flurry of new weapons arrive on Friday, November 13, there will be some cosmetic tweaks.

This includes Black Ops Operators becoming available in Warzone as soon as they have been unlocked in Cold War.

Gamers will also be able to access Warzone via Black Ops Cold War, with a message from Activision confirming: “From the Black Ops Cold War menu, you can be taken straight to Call of Duty: Warzone through this option.

“This free-to-play, massive combat experience takes place in the dense, sprawling world of Verdansk, where one can expect non-stop action at over 300 points of interest in lobbies that span up to 150 players.

“At launch, you can expect to find your Black Ops Cold War Operators here, with weapons and a brand-new experience to come at the start of Season One. Note: a separate installation is required to play Warzone.”

So while no big Warzone changes will be coming this week as part of the Black Ops Cold War release, we do know about those future plans.

These will include new weapons and experiences coming to Warzone, including full Battle Pass integration.

This is scheduled to begin with the launch of Season One on December 10, with Activision confirming in a recent post:

“At the launch of Season One in December, the path to gaining XP and leveling up will be shared across all three Call of Duty titles: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone. This Progression system is both familiar and innovative, allowing you to level up in all three titles no matter which game you play.

“To synchronize player progression across all three games, your initial (Military) rank will be reset within Modern Warfare and Warzone at the start of Black Ops Cold War Season One. This reset is synchronized to your current progression level in Black Ops Cold War when Season One begins.

“Don’t worry, only your XP is reset; everything you’ve previously unlocked remains available (like Weapons, Perks and Killstreaks in Modern Warfare for example).

“As the Black Ops Cold War Seasons progress and the Warzone story unfolds, be certain that our teams are working diligently to ensure all of this content is accessible. There are no current plans to remove content from Warzone but to ensure the best possible player experience, there may be occasions where content is delayed, or becomes temporarily or permanently inaccessible.”

More news regarding the next big Warzone update is expected in the coming weeks, ahead of the launch of Season 1.
