Pokemon Go fans are currently enjoying the Spring into spring Easter event.
The annual Pokemon Go Easter event has an April 9 release date on iOS and Android, and runs until 10pm local time on April 16.
The week long Easter event gives fans the chance to encounter and capture an increased number of egg and spring-themed Pokemon in the wild.
“Spring has sprung for those of you in the northern hemisphere, and what better way to celebrate than with a springtime event!” reads a Niantic post.
“Buneary joins the celebration by wearing a flower crown, while egg- and spring-themed Pokemon are appearing more often in the wild! Pokemon Eggs just got eggs-tra special too, as Pichu and Togepi with flower crowns will be hatching from them.”
For the next week, Exeggcute, Chansey, Mareep, Marill, and Torchic will appear with greater frequency, and you might even encounter Shiny Exeggcute.
Buneary wearing flower crowns and Pikachu wearing flower hats will also be appear alongside shiny variants.
Furthermore, in a bid to comply with coronavirus lockdown procedures, egg hatching distances will be greatly reduced.
“We’re continuing to prioritise Pokemon GO experiences that can be enjoyed in individual settings,” Niantic continues. “You’ll receive 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators until further notice, so be sure to turn on Adventure Sync and make every step count.”
Speaking of eggs, all eggs received from Gifts during the event will be of the 2km variety.
Hatch them to receive Pichu wearing a flower crown, Togepi wearing a flower crown, Happiny, Munchlax, Tyrogue, Chingling, and Riolu.
Other bonuses include double Hatch Candy, as well as Lucky Eggs that last for a whole hour.
“There will be event-exclusive Field Research tasks that reward encounters with Alolan Exeggutor, Azumarill, and – if you’re extremely lucky – Audino!” Niantic continues.
And finally, a Togepi-themed bag and hoodie will be available in the in-game shop.
You can benefit from all of these rewards and bonuses until April 16.
