Call of Duty Modern Warfare is getting a big patch very soon, courtesy of Infinity Ward. This was revealed in June and confirms some big changes are being planned for MW Multiplayer, and Season 4 Warzone. As many gamers already know, the meta of COD Warzone has solidified around a few different loadouts, the Grua being one of them. A fully unlocked Grau can do serious damage from both far away and close by, making it a popular choice.
Piling on the added magazine sizes makes for a gun that can take down multiple enemies in succession, and it’s something fans want to see change.
The good news is that Infinity Ward knows about these concerns and is looking to make some big balance changes during Season 4.
And while a new Call of Duty Modern Warfare update is expected to launch this week, there is no guarantee it will be the big one.
Infinity Ward likes to change out playlists and modes, meaning the next Call of Duty patch may only cover these aspects of the game.
A community manager for the studio told fans the week of June 23: “This is just a playlist update. Weapon changes and other fixes will be in our next update.
“I’ll share details of what’s in that when I can.”
Activision usually shares news on what’s coming to Warzone and Modern Warfare in a weekly blog, which could give us some early patch news.
It’s likely that the development team would want to give everyone a heads up about the future changes coming to the game, so it will be worth looking out for the next one shared by the team.
When it comes to the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare updates, these usually arrive on Tuesdays, or Wednesday, if you live in the UK.
This can provide a rough guide and means that the new Warzone Season 4 update could arrive as early as June 30 in the United States.
For gamers in the UK, a new COD patch could be available to download the following days, at around 7am BST.
Other releases are also being planned for Modern Warfare and Warzone during Season 4 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
This includes the release of Juggernaut Mode, which has yet to be given a launch date.
“In Juggernaut Royale, a Battle Royale mode variant, the massive Multiplayer Killstreak drops into Verdansk – three airdropped care packages, specifically, hold the Juggernaut suit,” Activision confirms.
“Head to one of the marked locations to capture and don the Juggernaut suit. Once you have it on, you’ll have higher health, a mini-gun, and a sweet music track to accompany you during the Warzone match.
“You’ll still be able to ride in vehicles and climb ladders, and your zero-fall damage will be accompanied by a ground pound of damage that impacts anyone in the immediate area. If any of the Juggernauts are sent to the Gulag, after a brief delay period, a new Juggernaut care package will be marked on the Tac-Map and deploy into Verdansk.”
COD Warzone is also expected to see map changes in the coming weeks, with train tracks being joined up across the map.
Fans have been waiting for the first major map changes since Bunkers were opened around the map a few weeks ago.
This came as a nice surprise for many but now fans are wanting to see other big changes made.
With the weapon rebalancing being released in the coming weeks, it would make for a perfect time to refresh the game and make it a bit more challenging again for those who have been dominating the Ws.
